Okay, I feel as if I should apologize to anyone who took my advice and watched the Clean House Messiest House In America 2 episode. These people were disgusting. Stuck in my Head nailed it; this was the first time I thought Niecy--and the rest, for that matter--would lose it. It's one thing to have a mess; that's most of the show. It's something else entirely to use a hall closet as a litter box for an evidently long-gone cat. These people claimed to want children. To heck with that; I want someone to take their dog away from them. Good lord. Matt was right--burn the place down and start over.
Really. The show's generally better than this. The people in it--like this great lil LA schoolteacher I watched earlier in the day--often just can't bear to clean up after a spouse has died or something. It's a good show. Honest. This episode was awful. I've seldom felt this uncomfortable watching television.
Yeah, I shoulda warned you. Last year's messy house winners were also severely ill as well. As in, don't give these people a new house, give them years of therapy.

It really was disturbing. I couldn't unfurl my lip (except when I laughed aloud at them wanting to have a kid) and I think I felt my pancreas flip inside when they showed the piles of old food and the piles of animal/insect defecation.
Thanks for the shout out.
And you are correct, the show is usually a pleasant experience. This episode was disturbing, but at least the final product (besides their attic full of their old junk) was quite nice.
