It's Pope Benedict XVI's 81st birthday today. He's spending it with George W. Bush. At this point, he has got to be asking, "What have I done to offend thee, O Mighty and Terrible God?"

Speaking of the pope...have you noticed that the media is utterly fascinated by the pope-mobile. EVERY report that I have heard over the past few days manages to bring it up in some way. IN fact, I thought I would get a break while listening to NPR's coverage this morning. NOPE! It ended with, "later we will give a full history of the pope mobile!" LOL.

Yep, there's an absolute obsession with the Popemobile; I've noticed it, too. What in the world can explain that?
