Chelsea Clinton's out on the campaign trail--full time now. Clinton rules--she can campaign all she wants but no one's allowed to interview her. Because she's "not political." She did make me happy the other day. A quite hostile student at Wisconsin Madison asked if Chelsea's mother had "shown any remorse" for her war vote that cost a million lives. Chelsea responded, "She cast a vote based on the best available evidence. Perhaps you had clairvoyance then, and that's extraordinary."
No, Chelsea. She didn't have the best available information because she didn't read the full NIE report, with all of its caveats and qualifiers. Interestingly, however, I didn't read it, I thought the war was a dumb idea, and so, by the logic of a Chelsea syllogism, I must be clairvoyant. Wow.
I must remember to use this gift only for good and not for evil. No Vegas for me. Instead, I'll write many more posts on politics because, y'know, I'm clairvoyant. Like Barack Obama. And Ted Kennedy. And Lincoln Chafee. And the UN weapons inspectors. And the millions of people who protested around the world. We're all clairvoyant, Chelsea. Watch out for us.
