Jo-ey, Jo-ey, Jo-ey
For those who want to know more about Biden, there are long, wonderful, weird passages in a long, wonderful, weird book, perhaps the best campaign book ever written: Richard Ben Cramer's What It Takes. A great read.
Wow--is this a handsome guy or what? Good lord, the genes worked for Beau Biden. Noitce he went with the striped tie, first one tonight, I think.
This is a great introduction--Attorney General, and these skills and looks? Wonder what his record is like.
Joe's going with the Obama blue tie. Guess I'm going to have to get one of these; they appear to be required items now.
We're now on PBS; Jim Lehrer is like an old time baseball announcer. Just drops things in. Curveball. Strike one. Beau is Joseph R. Biden III. He goes by Beau. Just the facts. Ma'am.
I've always thought these speeches must be hard because you have so little lead time; Biden's delivery is a bit awkward at the top, but he just didn't have the practice time.
FINNEGAN BIDEN?! There's cheering here right now! HUZZAH!
As Biden talks about his mother, there is more real emotion than I've seen in a while on television. Wow--love these stories. Talk about making him human--and that leads into a statement of the classic liberal creed. Equality before the law and life. Good intro--now, we're moving into the statement of the problem. Excellent. He's doing it more sad than mad. I wouldn't have expected it but it seems to work.
